Rumors are flying that Macbook Airs will receive a processor update in the coming weeks, at least according to Wall Street analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The current Macbook Airs utilize the now old and some what antiquated Core 2 Duo processor.
But Apple will replace the Core 2 Duo with the low voltage Core i3 and i5 chips, and include between 3 and 4 MB of Smart Cache. Additionally, the MacBook Air will support up to 8GB of RAM, twice the current Macbook Air’s capability. It’s also rumored that the svelte laptops will support Intel’s Thunderbolt technology for ultra fast transfer speeds.
